PBS presents Ken Burn's JAZZ - JAZZ, as per Wynton Marsalis, is "America's CLASSICAL MUSIC." Here it is, the long awaited series documenting Jazz and its development in America. Ken Burns does the best documentary films of our generation! Although the series doesn't include everyone, and there are some unfortunate omissions, this is still truly a marvelous achievement - and a great way to start learning jazz history. The site includes biographies of many major Jazz personalities and a breakdown of the historical phases of jazz.

I have begun collecting these, and have yet to be less than delighted with a purchase from their online catalog. In my opinion, the best of the best!
